A Message From Our CEO

16 May 2020

We would like all our valued supporters and those who have contributed to the growth of Utopia Theatre know where we are, and how the latest development has impacted the company.

We are monitoring the corona virus outbreak closely, taking guidance from our Board of Trustees, the UK Government and the NHS. We are still continuing to work as normal as is possible from home.

This period has made me reflect even more on my art and how I spend my time.
I’ve had a production that I’ve worked on making happen for over 4 years postponed indefinitely. Whatever happens this experience will not stop me from being an artist, in fact it fuels my creativity in other directions that I couldn’t explore because I have been too busy chasing my tail. This down time has made me evaluate why I have found myself in the cycle of working all the time and why this is an opportunity to stop. After all, success is a marathon not a sprint.

“The woman who follows the crowd will usually go no further than the crowd. The woman who walks alone is likely to find herself in places no one has been before” –Albert Einstein

We will keep monitoring the situation, liaising with our partners and will announce new dates for our events as soon as we can.

Thank you for your understanding and continued support.

Warm wishes and keep safe,

Moji Elufowoju
