Learning Club Workshop Assistant

About the Learning Club

The Learning Club is run as weekly culturally relevant sessions for 9 to 19 year olds with a focus on introducing and developing understanding of literature, films and music by Black artists to support formal learning, enable educational achievement.

Job Specification

  • Participation in session planning with the Workshop Leader
  • Contributing to the development of a comprehensive Learning Club provision
  • Setting up the venue for sessions
  • Ensuring general wellbeing of children and young people, creating a safe and welcoming environment
  • Supporting the activity ensuring all participants are safe and engaged
  • Gathering feedback from the participants using the facilitator’s chosen method
  • Giving feedback to the facilitator and Participation Manager as requested
  • Tidying up after the sessions

Person Specification

  • A passion for working with children and young people
  • A passion for and knowledge of the arts
  • Creating and maintaining accurate records

Desirable skills

  • An understanding and passion for Literature, Art and Films by Black artists
  • Positive and can-do attitude, creative, flexible and enthusiastic, with a commitment to excellence and professionalism
  • Proficient IT user, including Microsoft Office and Google Packages
